At least 18 people were hurl when a Philippine Airlines (PAL) Airbus 330 encountered severe air turbulence on its way to Manila from Singapore last Saturday. About one hour into the three and a half hour flight from Singapore, PR 502 hit an air pocket and dropped to 36,000 feet from an altitude of 37,000 ft. The turbulence resulted in injuries to passengers. The jet landed safely at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Injuries sustained by passengers ranged from bruises and sprains to broken bones.
