"PALsmiles," the popular frequent-flyer program of Philippine Airlines, has expanded its “Double Your Miles" promotion to cover passengers traveling business class on selected domestic routes.

For flights flown between Nov. 15, 1998 and March 15, 1999, PALsmiles members will earn twice the mileage they normally accumulate when flying business class in the domestic sector.

PAL smiles members normally earn 125 percent of actual miles flown when they travel business class on domestic flights. Under the promotion, they will now bank double, or 250 percent, the actual mileage.

For example, a passenger traveling business class between Manila and Cebu normally earns 436 miles for the 349-mile journey, or 125 percent of actual miles flown. Under Double Your Miles, he now earns an additional 436 miles for a total banked mileage of 872 miles for that flight alone.

What's more, he can combine this with mileage earned on PAL international flights to accumulate miles and redeem these for free flights or service class up-grades.

In the domestic sector, the Double Your Miles promotion is applicable on flights between Manila and the following cities: Cebu, Davao, Zamboanga, Puerto Princesa, Cagayan de Oro, Bacolod and General Santos.

On international flights, all PALsmiles members benefit from this promotion regardless of class of service they are booked into. Passengers traveling on promotional fare economy (including advance purchase, students', and senior citizens' discounts, etc.), who normally earn 50 percent of actual miles flown under the program, will now earn 100 percent of that figure.
