PHILIPPINE Airlines expected to normalize its operations yesterday as the three-day strike of the PAL Employees' Association (PALEA) officially ended Saturday with the signing of a memorandum agreement between the union and management.

The lifting of picket lines Saturday afternoon, followed by the gradual return of PALEA members to their work stations, resulted in a substantial increase in the number of international and domestic flights the airline begun mounting yesterday.

As more employees begin to report for work, additional flights could be operated later in the day.

Full normalization was expected by noon.

For dispatch yesterday were more than half of the scheduled international flights. These included flights to Narita via Cebu, Hong Kong, Taipei, Sydney and Melbourne, Jakarta-Kuala Lumpur, Fukuoka, Seoul, Singapore, Honolulu and San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, 18 domestic flights were operated yesterday, serving Cagayan de Oro, Kalibo, Dumaguete, Davao, Roxas, Butuan, Puerto Princesa, Bacolod, Cotabato, Iloilo, Cebu, Tacloban, Zamboanga and Bacolod.
