The Philippine Airlines strike finally ended when the strikers agreed to return to work and sit down with PAL officials to discuss their demands. The return-to-work agreement was mediated by Labor Secretary Leo Quisumbing. That's what they should have done in the beginning. Then there would not have been so much headache and irritation.

If it is true that leftists were able to infiltrate the Philippine Airlines strike, the strike leaders have a lot to explain to their followers. Reports said that leftists instigated the wildcat strike. That allegation did not gain the strikers any public sympathy. It could only boomerang against the labor leaders.
