DUMAGUETE CITY---Capitalizing on the creation of the first industrial zone in Negros Island, a new international airport is in the drawing boards for Bais City. Senator John OsmeƱa said P250 million in initial funding is being prepared for the proposed airport, to be in place in five years. He said it was better to create a new airport in Bais City, some 45km north of here, than to improve the Dumaguete-Sibulan airport which needs at least P80 million for another asphalt overlay, which ideally is required every three years. It has not had an overlay for nearly six years due to lack of funds.
